Car czar be gone, concept remains

President Barack Obama stepped back from naming a “car czar,” as he had planned to do to oversee the restructuring of the U.S. auto industry. A group of people will instead handle the job with the help of and under the advisement of Ron Bloom. Bloom is a former investment banker who made a name advising U.S. steelworkers to accept major concessions in several bankruptcy cases. He will take lead role, though not bear the onerous title of car czar, reported The Wall Street Journal.
