Automobile Rating - Automakers, automobile brands and cars
Automakers news Special offers Accidents Automobile news Articles Voting statistics Contacts
Welcome to the Auto Ratings! Auto Ratings' goal is to range automakers in the automobile industry and provide analysis of the rates. This rating is based on votes from all sorts of motorists. If you have ever driven any car of the automakers from this list, please rate it. You may rate several automakers, but only once a day. First day of every month all rating results are brought to naught. Starting a monthly rating from zero allows to identify a monthly automaker winner and thus more objectively display the voters' opinion. We rate automakers by the actual number of votes. Monthly voting statistics can be found here.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage is Awarded ‘Supercar of the Year’ by Wheels Magazine // 02-06-2010
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage has continued to receive global recognition after being named the Wheels Magazine ‘Supercar of the Year’. The V12 Vantage beat off stiff opposition from the Jaguar XKR, Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo Mercedes SLR and Porsche 911 Turbo to land the accolade. The criteria of entry for the awards, voted for by the Wheels editorial team, meant each car had to have been on sale in 2009, and test driven over the course of the last year. Wheels writer Amit Benjamin reviewed the V12 Vantage for Wheels: “The Aston Martin V12 Vantage is a traditional sports car in every sense, with a wonderful six litre engine up front, delivering enormous reserves of power to only the rear wheels. Sublime looks have been made even better with the DBS style rims and carbon fibre bonnet louvers and rear diffuser.”

Toyota Recall Hysteria Growing Concern For The Automaker // 03-22-2010
Most people are amazed at the nonsensical charges thrown at Toyota (NYSE:TM) by congressional committees. Imagine, the head of Toyota has to come hat in hand to ask forgiveness from America. Most normal Americans are perplexed at a stuck gas pedal being the topic on the news for weeks, if not months.
Auto sales are up, driven by incentives // 03-21-2010
Deals offered by a beleaguered Toyota have helped retail sales, but analysts warn of an incentive war and the risk of long-term harm.
Automakers are Clear: “We Want The EPA to Regulate Auto Emissions” // 03-21-2010
For as long as I can remember, it used to be that the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the EPA were at each other’s throats. They just never seemed to get along that well, and with good reason. Cars pollute, and the EPA’s job is to regulate and control pollution. Yin and Yang and all that. But in a strange twist, the Auto Alliance is urging Congress not to block the EPA from setting limits on tailpipe emissions and declaring greenhouse gases a public health hazard. In fact, the Alliance has even been closely helping EPA and NHTSA to craft the bill over the last year. Even weirder is having the California Air Resource Board (CARB) on the same side as the EPA and the Alliance. Have we entered a new era of corporate cooperation? Or are the automakers just trying to salvage a deal between CARB and the White House?
Toyota and mystery of unintended acceleration // 03-21-2010
Lately it seems that each day brings another report of a driver's terrifying experience with an out-of-control Toyota. There have been at least four congressional hearings in as many weeks. Even the most confident consumer has to wonder what is causing all this and, more fundamentally, whether Toyotas are safe to drive.
Automakers seek deferment in new emission norms implementation // 03-21-2010
Even as the Government is gearing-up to implement the new emission norms for automobile industry from April automobile manufacturers have shown concern about the availability of the required fuel. “The automobile industry is ready to follow the new emission norms from April 1, but the fuel is not available. We have requested the Government for a deferment of the date till the fuel becomes available,” Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and Mahindra & Mahindra (Automotive Division), President, Pawan Goenka, told PTI here. From April 1 onwards, India will adopt stricter emission norms under which 13 major cities will upgrade to BS IV from BS III and the rest of the country would move up from BS II to BS III as per the recommendations of the Mashelkar Committee for the control of pollution.
